Shizuku Device Guides: Samsung, Xiaomi, Pixel & More
Shizuku installs and activates the same way on every Android phone, but keeping the service alive depends on your manufacturer’s battery and autostart rules. Pixel and other near-stock phones just work; Samsung and Xiaomi need a few specific settings or the service is killed in the background. Pick your brand below for the exact steps.

Other manufacturers
OnePlus and Oppo (ColorOS) behave much like Xiaomi: set Shizuku to unrestricted battery and allow autostart, or the service stops when the screen sleeps. Look under Settings → Battery → App launch / Auto-launch.
Motorola, Nothing, and other near-stock phones follow the Pixel pattern — there is little background killing, so Shizuku usually keeps running with no extra configuration. If it ever dies, apply the same two settings: unrestricted battery and lock in recents. The universal background-death fix is problem #5 in the troubleshooting guide.
Vivo and iQOO (Funtouch/OriginOS) are among the most aggressive; treat them like Xiaomi and expect to enable every “allow background” toggle you can find.
What decides whether Shizuku survives
Activation is universal, but staying active is not: whether Shizuku keeps running after the screen locks depends entirely on how aggressively your manufacturer’s software kills background processes. Stock Android leaves the ADB connection alone; a heavily-skinned phone tears it down within minutes to save battery.
Three settings decide it on almost every phone, which is why they appear in every guide here:
- Battery policy — set Shizuku to unrestricted so the system never suspends it for power saving.
- Autostart / auto-launch — on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Honor, background apps are blocked from starting unless explicitly allowed.
- Recent-apps lock — stops the task cleaner from swiping the service away.
